What are the eligibility requirements for veterans to receive housing assistance?

To qualify for our veteran housing assistance program, you must meet the following criteria:

Honorable discharge from military service (DD-214 required)
Meet income requirements (typically 50% or below Area Median Income)
Be experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness
Pass background check and rental history review

We also provide assistance to veteran families and spouses of deceased veterans in certain circumstances.

All housing locations are kept strictly confidential
Staff receive specialized trauma-informed care training
We work with secure, pre-screened landlord partners

We also coordinate with local law enforcement and domestic violence agencies to ensure comprehensive protection.

What is the application process and how long does it typically take?

Our application process is designed to be as efficient as possible:

Initial Contact: Call us or fill out our online form (same day response)

Assessment Interview: Meet with our case manager within 48-72 hours

Documentation Review: Submit required documents (1-2 weeks for processing)

Housing Placement: Match with appropriate housing (2-4 weeks average)

Total Timeline: Most clients are housed within 30-45 days of initial contact. Emergency cases receive expedited processing.

What documents do I need to apply?

Please gather the following documents for your application:

Required for All Applicants:

Additional Documents:

Veterans: DD-214 discharge papers
Survivors: Police reports or court orders (if available)
Families: Birth certificates for children

Note: If you don't have all documents immediately, we can still begin the application process. Our staff will help you obtain any missing paperwork.

Are there any costs or fees for your services?

All of our services are completely FREE to eligible participants. This includes:

Application and assessment process
Case management and support services
Housing search and placement assistance
Community resource referrals

Important: While our services are free, you will be responsible for your portion of rent as determined by the housing program (typically 30% of your income for Section 8 housing).
